Original vintage Soviet poster celebrating International Women's Day on 8 March - Glory to Women! - featuring a lady with colourful confetti in her hair in front of a large red number eight and the word Marta / March stylised like a streamer ribbon with images in grey of two female military soldiers in uniform in the background. The annual International Women's Day began following the Women's Day held by the Socialist Party of America in New York in 1909; the annual 8 March national holiday was introduced in Soviet Russia after women gained the right to vote in 1917; the holiday was adopted by the United Nations in 1977. Good condition, tears, pinholes, folds, creasing.
