About the Item
Pictopoetry #7, print on aluminiun, ready for hanging, metal frame on the back, 50x37x0.2cm / 19.7x14.5in
Pictopoetry series is based on the avantgarde concept "nothing is impossible, everything is possible".
Reiventing the nude, deconstructing and reconstructing it in the digital era.
"Pictopoetry #7" presents a fragmented, photographic collage that combines abstraction with figural elements, using the medium of juxtaposition, inspired by the avantgarde's "cubomania".
Its grid structure and monochromatic blue tones create a sense of rhythm and repetition, offering a highly contemporary approach to visual storytelling.
The image is broken into a mosaic of smaller pieces, each capturing partial details of a body, furniture, and surroundings. This fragmented presentation abstracts the subject, emphasizing form, texture, and light over narrative coherence. It suggests themes of memory, perception, and identity—perhaps evoking how we recall details in fragments .
The use of red crimson tones evokes a sense of passion.
The strict grid format imposes order, but the dynamic variation in the squares—some highly abstract, others detailed—challenges this order. This tension between structure and chaos adds complexity to the piece, echoing movements like Constructivism or Postmodern deconstruction.
The human body is deconstructed into abstracted shapes and forms, almost resembling a topographical map or a study of curves and contours. This treatment invites the viewer to engage with the body in a nontraditional way, focusing on composition rather than narrative.
The grid format recalls influences from modernist abstraction (e.g., Piet Mondrian's structured compositions) but with a more photographic, fragmented approach that aligns with contemporary conceptual art. The use of fragmented human forms connect to Cubism or even Feminist art, exploring themes of representation.
Printed on Hahnemuhle art photo paper with white borders, size is 20x16in. In mat overall size 28x20in.
