Patty deGrandpre’s “Doomsday” is a unique abstract 3.5 x 10 inch inkjet print on 8.5 x 11 photo paper in black and white that incorporates a picture taken of a broken television screen. The monochromatic tones and gradations of this distinct abstract print suggests an overcast landscape or storm and is from her “Broken Television” series. Patty deGrandpre’s small contemporary works have a powerful effect as the viewer is compelled to look closer at the layers and hues. Each unique image is inkjet printed only once, on Red River Polar Pearl Metallic photo paper, and is signed and dated bottom right. Patty deGrandpre
Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She received her BFA in Visual Design at Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1987. Her studio is in her home in Lamy, New Mexico. She has participated in many shows, both juried and invitational, at local, regional and national levels. In addition to three solo exhibitions, she has received accolades and awards over the years in both Fine Art and Printmaking.
