About the Item
Patty deGrandpre’s “Show’s about Nature / Small Point 2” is a unique 7.75 x 7.25 inch inkjet print represented on 11 x 11 inch Red River Polar Matte photo paper. Two depictions of a New England coastal landscape in hues of blue are distinctly divided by a striated overlay in warm tones of siena and yellow. The familiar images of a sandy beach and shallow waves blend effortlessly with the bicolored bands creating an elegant abstraction. This piece is a creative offspring of her “Broken Television” series where the artist found inspiration from taking photos of a television screen while it was malfunctioning. DeGrandpre takes a graphic design approach in her artworks. Utilizing structure, form, and color she creates compositions that incorporate the recognizable with the abstract. The artist has recently relocated from Coastal Massachusetts to New Mexico and continues to find inspiration from her life experiences. This contemporary seaside pictorial is signed on the from right corner of the paper and will be shipped flat for the frame of your choice.

Patty deGrandpre
Patty deGrandpre is a New Mexico based artist. She received her BFA in Visual Design at Southeastern Massachusetts University in 1987. Her studio is in her home in Lamy, New Mexico. She has participated in many shows, both juried and invitational, at local, regional and national levels. In addition to three solo exhibitions, she has received accolades and awards over the years in both Fine Art and Printmaking.
