About the Item
Turquoise and Black is an original four-color lithograph created as part of a collection of 33 first-edition lithographs for the 6th and final edition of The Situationist Times: International Parisian Edition. This landmark issue was published in the spring and autumn of 1967 and featured prominent artists from the CoBrA and Figuration Narrative movements, who made up the majority of the contributors.
The 6th edition of The Situationist Times represents the culmination of the avant-garde publication's radical fusion of art, theory, and countercultural critique. The lithographs in this edition are notable for their experimental use of form, color, and concept, reflecting the revolutionary ethos of the Situationist movement. Turquoise and Black exemplifies this spirit with its bold composition and dynamic interplay of colors, marking it as a significant piece within one of the most sought-after art publications of the 20th century.
