This impression on laid paper was printed in London in 1868 for the rare first volume of Philip Gilbert Hamerton's "Etching and Etchers". Besides being an art critic and scholar, Hamerton was also an accomplished etcher. Plate size: 7 1/4 x 6 3/4 inches (185 x 173 mm). Signed in the plate; not hand-signed.
Condition: there is age-toning to the paper. This work was published as a folded sheet with a horizontal center crease.
