This David Hockney rare vintage 1985 Pop Art lithograph print " Paris Vogue " custom framed exhibition poster is an incredibly special and unique piece to add to your collection. The lithograph print poster is published by The Galerie Bernard Paris, printed in France in 1985 by Imp. Union Paris, in an unnumbered limited edition on the occasion of the " Images et Pensees Pour le Magazine Vogue Paris " exhibition. It features an artwork image originally created by Hockney in 1984 titled " An Image of Gregory ( Detail ), for the December 1985 issue of Vogue Paris, copyright David Hockney 1985. David Hockney ( B. 1937 ) is an English painter, draftsman, printmaker, stage designer, and photographer. He is an important contributor to The Pop Art Movement of the 1960's. He is considered one of the most influential British artists of The 20th Century. His artworks have commanded greater popular acclaim than any other Contemporary British artist. The Pop Art Expressionist artworks have been the subject of more than 400 solo exhibitions. Art works by Hockney are included in the collections of many of the world's most prestigious museums. Every December French Vogue would invite a special person to create and curate their magazine cover and 3-40 pages to do whatever they chose. This became one of the most highly collectible issues. Hockney created a 41 page essay about the disruption of conventional notions of perspective in Western Art, as expressed through images of his own work with drawings, paintings and his famous photo collages from this period exclusively for Vogue Paris, plus an eight page fold out. Hockney said about his work for this special Vogue issue " When they first asked me, i refused. I didn't even know enough about fashion. Then they said it needn't be about fashion, it could be about anything. I thought, if it can be about anything, then i'll do it. After all, forty pages in the middle of Vogue is forty pages in the middle of pictures which make use of a one-point perspective, because all the rest of the photographs in the magazine are made in a conventional way. I wanted to show how it could be done differently. The rare out of print framed Paris exhibition poster is signed by the artist. It is custom framed with UV protective plexiglass in a Contemporary Modern frame.
