Reyes is a Chicano artist, born in the Los Angeles suburb of Panorama City in 1971 and grew up in the working class neighborhood of El Sereno. After earning a B.A. in Fine Arts from the San Francisco Art Institute, Reyes returned home to Los Angeles.
Reyes' fractured look at the American dream and consumerism merges street art, tattoo and comic book influences. His distinctive style combines elements of American pop culture as well as contemporary and classical “high art”, incorporating everything from icons of corporate America to Hollywood stars, mass media, politics and consumerism.
