About the Item
Original poster: The Sesquicentennial International Exposition Philadelphia. June First to December First, 1926. "The Voice of the Liberty Bell." Original vintage poster, linen-backed. Artist: Dan V. Smith.
The Sesquicentennial International Exposition of 1926 was a world's fair hosted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the signing of the United States Declaration of Independence and the 50th anniversary of the 1876 Centennial Exposition. Printer: Elliott Brewer.
The main highlight of the 1926 Philadelphia World's Fair was the 150th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Organizers constructed an eighty-foot replica of the Exposition's symbol -- the Liberty Bell -- covered with 26,000 light bulbs at the gateway to the festival.
Lady Liberty is holding the U. S. Flag with the Liberty Bell at her feet.
This poster has been restored and had a repaired tear in the top center and lower right bottom corner area. This poster is almost 100 years old, and in 2026 it will be the 250th year anniversary of America.
