Lullaby features a male figure standing behind a woman sleeping with her head down. This shadowy figure recurs throughout Moore’s Auden lithographs, an ambiguous presence who exists between menace and comfort. The imagery for Lullaby was inspired by Auden’s poem Lullaby.
