Paris: Imprimerie Chaix, 1863.
Stone lithograph in colors on light card stock, 15 1/2 x 11 1/4 inches (392 x 284 mm), full margins. Light mat tone and scattered edge wear, nicks and very small losses, notably at the top right and left corners, well outside of the image area. With the Imprimerie Chaix blind stamp in the lower right. Colors remain fresh and bright. Plate number 22 from "les Maîtres de l'Affiche," finely printed in 1896. An iconic image.
The image portrays French chanteuse Eugénie Buffet dressed as a Parisian "working girl" with her hands in her pockets on a snowy street. An advertisement for Buffet's performance at Ambassadeurs.
