About the Item

¨Baroque carnival¨. Surreal portrait inspired in old master' s portrait. The extraordinary portrait of the art patron Cornelius van der Geest made by Antoon Van Dyck in 1620 is transformed by Pablo de Pinini into a painting where the sitter, according to the author's words, "Looks wonderful with his Ray-Ban and his butterflies." A beautiful carnival headdress of white flowers with butterflies fluttering around them, break with the seriousness of the work and also with that of the sitter, who is relieved by the Ray-Ban glasses from the conjunctival disease that he suffered in life. The balanced contrast between black and white gives surprising elegance to this daring composition. Fine Art Giclée Pigmented Inkjet. Digital painting printed on museum quality canvas. Edition of 7. Dimensions in centimetres 73 x 73 x 3 cm In inches 28.74 x 28.74 x 1.18 ¨ The work is accompanied by a certificate sealed and signed by the artist. The sides of the painting are also painted. Pablo de Pinini's work technique is mainly digital painting and matte painting, using his fingers and an Apple Pencil on an iPad. His compositions are characterized by a surrealist vein, with elements of cultural criticism and an underlying irony in each of his interpretations. His interventions on printed works, with the contribution of materials such as gold leaf, oil, acrylics, resins, varnishes and digital techniques, mean that each of his works in physical format can become a unique artwork. His prints with FINE ART Gigleé technology are available in physical formats, on museum-quality supports such as methacrylate, stained glass, canvas, dibond... ABOUT THE ARTIST Pablo Casado Núñez (Madrid, Spain-1969), known artistically as Pablo de Pinini, has been surrounded by art since he was very young, as he belongs to the ¨Pinini¨ family, internationally known in the world of flamenco with prominent members such as Bernarda and Fernanda de Utrera. Very soon he showed an inclination for the visual arts, which he developed by studying, initially, Draftsman and later training in oil painting and photography with prestigious artists such as the Chilean painters Alejandro de Cinti and Oscar Villalón. His natural need to experiment led him to digital painting in 2018, from this moment on, and influenced by the well-known Spanish digital painter Jaime San Juan Ocabo, he decided to dedicate himself completely to the development of digital pictorial works. His style has been compared to that of the American artist Beeple, although Pinini's works tend to be more of a reinterpretation of past masterpieces, in which contemporary or futuristic elements burst in in unexpected and provocative ways. His works are characterized by a surrealist vein, with elements of cultural criticism and an underlying irony in each of his interpretations. Interventions on works individually make each of their pieces become unique works. It is worth highlighting among his latest collaborations that he is a participating artist in the ¨Génesis¨ collection of the prestigious Madrid auction house ¨Subastas Durán¨. Currently, in turn, he is a collaborating artist at the decoration store ¨Reflex¨, in Marbella-Spain, sharing space with furniture and decoration from the prestigious brand ¨Pininfarina¨. He is currently collaborating with decorators of the stature of the Zaragoza architect Joaquín Carbó and will soon integrate works into a new decorative project by the Madrid decorator Alejandra Pombo.
