THE WHITE HOUSE FELLOWS is a rare, Pop Art poster by the renowned American Pop artist, Peter Max. THE WHITE HOUSE FELLOWS was created in 1995 in celebration of 30 Years of The White House Fellows, printed using color offset lithography techniques on heavyweight paper, superb quality poster, vivid full rainbow color image, artists logo trademark on lower corner. THE WHITE HOUSE FELLOWS is a colorful Pop Art landscape portrait of The White House, Washington D.C. Peter Max's adept use of rainbow colors in shades of light blue, red, magenta, yellow, orange, green, and purple create an eye-catching house portrait of the official residence of the President of the United States and First Family; also considered "The People's House" for all Americans. In reference to THE WHITE HOUSE FELLOWS program: The mission statement adopted in 1964 (President Lyndon B. Johnson) by the President’s Commission on White House Fellowships- “The purpose of the White House Fellows program is to provide gifted and highly motivated emerging leaders with some first-hand experience in the process of governing the Nation and a sense of personal involvement in the leadership of society.” Print size - 36 x 24 inches, unframed, excellent condition, unsigned Year published - 1995 Artist Peter Max was born in 1937, Berlin Germany and spent his childhood in Shanghai. From China, the family went to Tibet for a year, and then on to Israel. Peter Max's family's odyssey continued to Paris, and finally, at the age of 16, Max arrived in the United States. Peter Max began his art studies in New York at the Art Student's League and continued at the Pratt Institute and School of Visual Arts. Peter Max, who is known throughout the world and is a household name in America, is famous for his new age style, cosmic imagery and multi-colored blends. During the late 1960's and early 70's, Peter Max's colorful art reached millions of people and he won numerous major awards for his work. Peter Max's paintings, drawings, sculpture and limited edition graphics have been exhibited in major museums throughout the world.

    Perspex form, vacuum formed acrylic and spray painted black, 1970, signed and dated verso, from the edition of 106, although an edition of 750 was planned it was not fully executed, published by xartcollection, Zurich, 59 x 59 x 9.8 cm. (23.2 x 23.2 x 3.9 in.) In 1970 British-Pop artist Richard Hamilton was invited to produce an edition of 750 small-scale multiples of the Guggenheim. The intention was to produce vacuum-form reliefs in Perspex and offset the costs of expensive molds by creating a large edition. In the end, the project proved more technically difficult than anticipated. Of the three colours (black, white and chrome), only a total of 271 were realised, 117 in white.
