SEATED SEAMSTRESS is an original hand drawn (not digitally or photo reproduced) limited edition lithograph by the artist Raphael Soyer - Russian/American Social Realism Painter, 1899-1987. Printed in graphite gray, black, light peach, light rust, and lime yellow using traditional hand lithography techniques on archival Arches printmaking paper 100% acid-free rag.
Sensitive, realistically drawn portrait of a dark haired young woman seamstress sitting beside her dress form mannequin holding a measuring tape making measurement adjustments. Very fine impression - has the feel of a graphite drawing.
Print size - 30 x 22 in., unframed, excellent condition pencil signed by Raphael Soyer

Raphael Soyer(December 25, 1899 – November 4, 1987) was a painter, draughtsman, and printmaker who believed that "if art is to survive, it must describe and express people, their lives and times. It must communicate."
Soyer is best known for picturing poverty stricken victims of the Great Depression in New York City, also for creating images of everyday urban life and of the nude female body.
