About the Item
TEAR OF TIME (Melting Clock) is a limited edition color lithograph by the Modern master Salvador Dali, after an original Salvador Dali gouache painting from 1931 - The Persistence of Memory. TEAR OF TIME (Melting Clock) was printed using hand lithography techniques on archival Arches printmaking paper, 100% acid free, published in 1998 as a posthumous edition by Brana Fine Art, NY. The edition has been verified and authenticated by Dali Archivist, Albert Field. TEAR OF TIME (Melting Clock) is in pristine condition, never been framed, hand signed in pencil by Salvador DALI and inscribed PP 1/3 - Printers Proof aside from the numbered edition of 175, authenticated on the reverse side with the pencil signature of Albert Field, Dali's official archivist. From the master printer's private collection, print documentation will be provided.

Salvador Dali was born Salvador Felipe Jacinto Dali y Domenech in Figueras, Spain, on May 11, 1904. Spanish painter, sculptor, graphic artist, and designer, Dali passed through phases of Cubism, Futurism and Metaphysical painting, he joined the Surrealists in 1929 and his talent for self-publicity rapidly made him the most famous representative of the movement. Salvador Dali is considered as the greatest artist of the surrealist art movement and one of the greatest masters of art of the twentieth century.
