About the Item
Original poster, lithograph, linen-backed, Nathan Hale poster reading," I only regret that I have but one life to lose for my country."
Step into history with this 1939 Kelly Read & Co. Rochester (NY) poster, a testament to the principles our patriots died for. This very rare original poster is the only documented copy remaining. Archival linen-backed and ready to frame.
The poster features a stylized image of Nathan Hale, an American Revolutionary War soldier, against a dark background. He is depicted standing with his hands reaching out, wearing a yellow waistcoat and white shirt. Two five-pointed stars are visible in the top corners of the poster. Below the image, a quote from Hale appears: "I ONLY REGRET THAT I HAVE BUT ONE LIFE TO LOSE FOR MY COUNTRY," attributed to Nathan Hale - 1776. Below this, the poster reads, "Patriots died for the principles that gave us our freedom. Let us live for those same principles." The poster celebrates Hale's sacrifice and calls on people to uphold the principles of freedom that he died for.
This is an Original Lithograph Vintage Poster; it is not a reproduction.
