Sandra Ceballos is a Cuban artist born in Guantánamo in 1969, known for exploring themes of identity, memory, and the human condition in her work. Her focus is on the experiences of women, and how people interact with each other and their surroundings, shaping individual and collective experiences.
Ceballos uses a bold use of color and texture in her artistic practice, and often incorporates found objects and other materials in her work. She has exhibited her art both in Cuba and internationally, at venues including the National Museum of Fine Arts in Havana and the Museum of Latin American Art in California. Her work is held in public and private collections worldwide.
Aside from being an artist, Ceballos is also a curator and educator who has taught in Cuba and other countries. Her artistic legacy continues to influence the contemporary art scene in Cuba and beyond, and her dedication to exploring the complexities of the human experience through her art has earned her a reputation as one of the most important artists of her generation.
