Daniel Serra-Badue
Daniel Serra-Badue, Solitude

1977

About the Item

Daniel Serra-Badue was a Cuban artist working in New York City. His work is notable not only for the surrealist subject matter (a single egg in a wire basket in deep space) but for the extremely skillful work on the lithographic stone. NO ONE else could draw like he did. Signed, titled, dated, and numbered, in pencil. To its credit, Associated American Artists published this subject as part of their 250 edition program in 1983. And Serra-Badue was one of the very few artists who would go to the trouble of signing, titling, numbering, and even dating. each of the 250 impressions. Reference: Windisch & Cole 2577.
