- "Water Glasses" - Still Life Etching in Ink on Paper (#9/20)Located in Soquel, CAClean, modern depiction of glasses of water on books by Ellen Ezorsky (American, b. 1956). Three glasses of water are sitting atop a few stacked books. While this piece is executed in black and white, Ezorsky has achieved a wide tonal range between the shadows and highlights, bringing the scene to life. Of particular note is the way she has captured the reflections in the water and the light that the glasses cast on the surfaces below them. Numbered, titled, signed, and dated along the bottom edge: 9/20 Water Glasses Ellen Ezorsky 11/81 Presented in a new white mat with foamcore backing. Mat size: 20"H x 16"W Paper size: 15"H x 10.75"W Ellen Ezorsky (b. 1956) was born in New York City. After graduating from highschool in New Jersey, she attended State University of New York at Purchase before moving to California. In California, she attended Cabrillo College in 1977 and ’78 before spending two years at Massachusetts College of Art in Boston. Ezorsky then returned to the west coast to attend and graduate from UC Santa Cruz with a BA in Studio Art. She then earned her MFA in Painting from the San Francisco Art Institute. Since graduating, Ezorsky has exhibited extensively and her paintings have been acquired for many private collections across the country. - Hawthoria Fasciata, Contemporary Still Life Art, Bright Linocut Plant Art PrintBy Kerry DayLocated in Deddington, GBKerry Day Haworthia Fasciata is a limited edition still life print by Kerry Day. Reduction linocuts are printed from one piece of lino, cutting it again for each new colour in the design. All the prints for an edition have to be printed before moving on to the next colour, because once the lino is re-cut you can’t make any more. Depending on how many colours are use, at the end there may be very little of the lino block left uncut. Recently I find myself moving on from people to plants. Inspiration has come from the many cacti and plants I share my home and studio with – the strong profiles of my spiky friends and the marvellously named Elephant Ear plant...Category
