About the Item

A large serigraph by Nicola Simbari ( Italian, 1927-2012) entitled " la famille du cirque " edition 60/300. The colorful portrait of circus artists is hand signed and numbered by the artist and finely matted and framed in a custom silvered wooden frame with an antique finish. About the artist : TALIAN, 1927-2012 Nicola Simbari was an Italian painter. Though born in San Lucido, Calabria, Simbari was raised in Rome, where his father was an architect for the Vatican. He studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma and in the 1940s he began devoting himself to painting in a studio at Via del Babuino in central Rome. Simbari is considered by many to be Italy's most important modern artist. (Biography provided by A.B.
