About the Item
Artist Commentary:
Rolling dice, turning luck! All 6 sides of the dice has the same probability. When the dice is cubic, the results are digital, but when the dice getting closer to the ball shape the results could be analog and infinite when it is a perfect ball. Old cobblestones were used to make the heavy dices. In 3 steps the cube became a ball, a real rolling dice.

Artist Biography:
Born in Hungary, Andrasfalvy is 50, with swift dark eyes, a chiseled jaw, and a casually athletic frame that stretch, well over six feet. He exudes a quiet restlessness. He holds an M.D., a Ph.D., and two curricula vitae—one that lists eleven peer-reviewed publications on neuronal physiology, and another that describes dozens of sculptures, several of them commissioned and many gifts. The pivot between art and science started early. When Andrasfalvy was 10 years old, his father gave him a woodcarving set. By age 20, he had completed his first stone sculpture—and was on the path to medical school. Ever since, he’s spent weekends sculpting leftover granite or marble salvaged from graveyard and construction suppliers and weekdays doing research and crafting tools for scientists studying ... “My philosophy is that there are only two things you can do to keep creative, like a child: art and science,” Andrasfalvy says. “In these fields, you can follow your curiosity. How does this work? What does it look like? Everything else is a job.”— His works are born as abstraction of thoughts and feelings. The adventure is to spell out them without saying it, just give the essence, no more. Only the minimum clues are given in them to recognize what they are, and no more. Beside the most characteristic feature of the intended art piece, many of them had a different, second meaning, like the fish is a hook, too, or the bat is a book, or the neuroscientist’s palette is a slice from a hippocampus. Ludic creations are born from contentment while trials and tribulations induce a state of mind capable of conceiving the transcendental.

Artist Commentary:
Half face with one goggling eye. The turnable eye has pupil on both side, light can go through. When the eye turned sideway, it becomes cat eye. Our eye movements are the most talkative part of our face.

Abstract Marble Sculpture by Emile Gilioli
By Émile Gilioli
Located in Stamford, CT
This beautiful marble sculpture by Emile Gilioli is made of rose veined marble (white/pink). The sculpture is signed and dated on wooden base.
"Emile Gilioli was born to a family on Italian shoemakers who had settled beside the Canal Saint-Martin. After the first World War, the family moved back towards Italy, settling in Nice.
In 1932, Gilioli took courses at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs de Nice, notably with the future artist Marie Raymond.
During the Second World War, Gilioli was mobilized in Grenoble where he passed the remainder of the conflict. He made the acquaintance of Andry Fracy, a conservationist at the Grenoble Musee des baux-arts and led him to discover cubism.
After the war, Gilioli settled in Saint-Martin-de-La-Cluze near Grenoble, where he sculpted in his workshop. His art was associated in a certain way with the deeds of the French Renaissance. He became friendly with Thomas Gleb...
