Chris Hill
Chris Hill is a Santa Fe based sculptor. Hill was born in Port Arthur, Texas but grew up in small town North Mississippi. He began welding at age 18 at the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Yellow Creek Nuclear Plant’s apprentice program. The nuclear plant project was cancelled but it was there that his passion for metalworking began. It would be another 8 years before he resumed his work in metal after studying design and graduating from the American Academy of Art in Chicago. Working as a designer and teaching digital design at the American Academy of Art, he managed to find time to resume his work in metal and began exhibiting his sculptures in 1990. He has since exhibited in SOFA Chicago, LA Art Show, New York & Miami, Art Chicago, Art Palm Beach, Art of the 20th Century: New York and Expo Chicago. His work is held in public and private collections worldwide.

Price Upon Request - Chromatica - tall, geometric abstract, powder coated steel outdoor sculptureBy Ryan Van Der HoutLocated in Bloomfield, ONAs the sun moves through the sky, the green and purple lenses of Ryan Van Der Hout’s ‘Chromatica’ capture the light and cast colourful shadows. Van Der Hout’s powder-coated steel sculptures were inspired by their work as a professional photographer. This compelling modernist piece features five hand forged black steel poles that fan out from the center and are top and tailed with five disks of framed glass. Their vision was to create pieces infused with light and motion. As a result, the sculpture is best viewed by walking around it. “Effecting something of a kaleidoscopic eye, the sculpture’s lenses interact with sunlight and with each other to combine colours in surprising and delightful ways.” Ryan Van Der Hout An interdisciplinary artist Van...Category
