About the Item
'Dar Zubi' is a contemporary abstract cast glass sculpture by David Ruth from his Darfur series. It features painterly brushstroke formations in glass called trails. These trails are in colors of black and yellow. Trails are created through rolling molten glass into various forms and shapes. They are then placed within clear glass and fused into one large piece through kiln casting. This technique creates a layered, suspended, and vibrant three-dimensional space within. The outside is then acid etched to create the frosted effect.
