Dudley Vaill Talcott
Free Form Abstract Sculpture [III]

circa 1984

$4,180

About

Dudley Vaill Talcott, American (1899-1986), Free Form Abstract Sculpture [III], circa 1984. From the estate of the artist. Exhibited: Aetna Life Insurance Galleries, Hartford, CT, 1985. In his later works, the sculptor’s form-follows-function gate, towering fountains, and architectural plaques seamlessly blended the organic curves of Art Nouveau with the highly stylized symmetry of Art Deco and the Bauhaus. Further modernizing the concept, Talcott was an early adapter of the latest industrial building materials, such as aluminum, hydrocal plaster, fiberglass and resin.
