About the Item
Abstract Ceramic wall sculpture in white with ivory/yellow/beige. A neutral work created with ceramic squares mounted to a wood pane from Pop Art pioneer Jane B. Grimm, whose minimal and meditative sculptures and wall reliefs are comprised of ceramic, using a low fire method. New works take their inspiration from nature, including colors of the sea and sky. Grimm's career began in the 1960s, when her freeform sculptural jewelry exploded onto the fashion scene in NYC. Her contemporary ceramic sculptures have premiered in galleries and museums worldwide.
'Mondrian III '' is created in with ceramic on wood. It is a dramatic and provocative work in neutral tinted ceramic squares. A meditative work that is appropriate to display in a kitchen or bathroom, where other mediums — painting, or works on paper — may not hold up well under the same conditions of heat, moisture and light. Ceramic can take full light and even moisture.
Artist signed, dated and titled verso. Unique. A wonderful work to live with and to enjoy over time.
