About the Item

Multiple sculptural elements created with an irreducible aesthetic and functional form. Made from blown borosilicate glass and powder coated aircraft grade aluminum. Born and raised in Atlanta, Kristofer Laméy has brought much to the southeastern art and design table. From debuting his unique design perspective in the 2007 ICFF in New York City and showcasing his Art at Aqua during the 2008 Art Basel in Miami, to his solo Museum of Design Atlanta (MODA) exhibit titled “Serving Form” in 2010, Kristofer is best known for his one-off commissioned sculptural art forms. His work has found a place in homes and collections across the globe. One of his most ambitious design challenges was solving a decades-long problem in the aviation industry: How to more efficiently design and install jet aircraft interiors. This was the birth of AIMS. Kristofer’s work straddles a fine line that resides between art and design. Many, lost within the engineering of his creations, like to push his work out of the category of art and into the realm of design. This line is the fulcrum that leverages his work into a playing field of his own, and he is proud of that. Those looking for solutions in the marketplace that are in need of an outside perspective to differentiate a product benefit from his fresh and creative approach to modern manufacturing. In April 2020 Kristofer moved his family to the North Georgia mountain...

In life, every time you do or make something you have the opportunity to make something creative and original. Take something, add to it and pass it on; that’s the creative process. The world around us is an infinite source of inspiration. My art is influenced by a combination of the styles of the Symbolist, the Surrealist, and the contemporary Realist and is the result of a compulsive motivation to make things. After several years serving in the U.S. Navy and several fits and starts with college, David graduated from Georgia State University in 1977 with a BFA concentration in sculpture. Since then he has continued to produce art in a variety of mediums including sculpture, painting, furniture, ceramics and drawing. Craftsmanship is a motivational force in all his work. Group shows David has participated in include: GA ARTISTS juried exhibit, Abernathy Arts Center May 201 1 National Juried Show, SAAG Blue Ridge GA. 201 1 , 2015 National Juried Show, SAAG Blue Ridge GA. 2010 Honorable Mention award “Simply Drawn”, Juried show Roswell Arts Center, 2010 STARBRUST; Sandy Springs, GA Best of Show, 2009 Blue Moon Brewing Co. art project, 1st place, 2008 S.
