This abstract oak wood sculpture by Lutfi Romhein has been firstly given a patina, then lacquered to highlight its pure lines. Its very professionally lacquered finishing in a dark red gives it a satin appearance and a very soft and smooth touch feel. Its base measuring 6cm x 12cm x 12cm is also lacquered, in black. And the red abstract sublime pivots on its axis connecting the base.
A graduate from the Academy of Fine Arts of Carrare, in Italy, Lutfi Romhein is a sculptor of Syrian origin, leaving in France since the mid-2000s. Lutfi Romhein likes to explore a diversity of styles, but also of materials : marble, fine woods, stainless steel, slate, plexiglas… He is particularly renowned in Syria, the Middle East and in Italy.
