Sculpture – ‘Red Neon Orb’ by Mark Beattie 2017

Red neon, powder coated copper on mirror polished stainless steel plinth.
‘Red Neon Orb’ is one of the largest neon sculptures Mark has made and his first with red neon. In this piece Mark has only used two bars of metal; refining and simplifying his use of line but maintaining a sense of movement which is so important in his work.
The sculpture is mounted onto a mirror polished stainless steel plinth so the viewer has a lovely mirrored image of the piece and the plinth’s surroundings. The sculpture has a waterproof transformer which means it’s suitable to display outdoors.
