About the Item

Artist Commentary: I collected horse chestnuts on my frequent walks with Ocho the dog because I love the shapes, color and texture of these large seeds. I cleaned, sealed and painted the attachment point of the chestnuts in bright colors then mounted them on a board and sealed again with acrylic gloss medium. The original piece is square so additional images can be provided if requested. Words that describe this piece: multi media, three dimensional, 3D, sculptural, nature, bright, round, dots, circles, colorful, collection, chestnuts, horse chestnuts, paint Artist Biography: Megan Frazer is a Seattle based artist inspired by the natural world. The weather, the sky, the changing light and colors as well as the infinite variety and beauty of plant and animal life all find their way into her work. She hopes that her work will serve as a visual oasis in your home and provide many hours of pleasure and peace. Megan attended Cornish College of the Arts in Seattle and has been creating art professionally since 1989. Her paintings have been shown at the Tacoma Art Museum, Lynwood Library Gallery, South Seattle Community College Gallery, Collective Visions Gallery in Bremerton, Washington, Euphorium gallery and The State Theater in Olympia, Washington, Verite and the WET Gallery at the Washington Ensemble Theater in Seattle, Washington.
