Pleunie Buyink
When the evening sets in

2023

About the Item

Unique handcrafted double sided object mounted in a steel frame work. Both side objects have been created with a compound material developed by Pleunie Buyink which material she named 'Limber Gem". Pleunie Buyink developed this material during her graduation at the Design Academy Eindhoven, it's a combination of different layers Polyurethanes and pure color pigments. The background of the Limber Gem material composition layers is light reflective and is creating a special feature. You will see different colours popping up with the changing incoming day light. The frame work is coated in a special Deore 0004 color, which also plays subtle with the incoming light. In this double sided object sides, one is including handmade crystals, they are being made of a hard polyurethane, the other has a smooth surface. Colors that are being used in this object are different shades of silver, gold, grey, brown, aubergine and purple. Inspiration behind this piece is when the sun sets and the evening begins.
