Moth is a unique Bardiglio marble sculpture by contemporary artist Richard Perry, dimensions are 15 × 20.5 × 20.5 cm (5.9 × 8.1 × 8.1 in).
The sculpture is signed and comes with a certificate of authenticity.
This sculpture is a part of the artist's most recent series, which is distinguished by organic, flexible shapes that give the works a lively, dynamic feel. The more rigid forms, typical of the geometric language he developed in the 2010s, are juxtaposed with these freer forms. The artist uses a variety of materials, such as bronze and ceramics, but his favourite is stone: alabaster, granite, marble, limestone and red sandstone from quarries in England, Ireland, and Italy.
Shape and material, and how they both interact with space and light, are at the centre of Richard Perry's artistic approach. His abstractly shaped sculptures have an elegant and solid balance created by the interaction of planes, lines, surfaces, and voids.
