Container (2014) is a work by contemporary French artist Romain Langlois.
Bronze, 39 cm × 106 cm × 26 cm. Edition of 8 & 4 A.P.
In this bronze sculpture, Romain Langlois has produced a really realistic imitation of tree bark. The textures are obtained in the casting process and the colours through different patinas. The interior is polished so as to give the bronze this golden hue and glints of light. Romain Langlois has denatured this banal object and has bestowed upon it a new and valuable nature that both intrigues us and transforms our impression of it.
