About the Item

The sculpture, Banquet III - Time Capsule Project , is one of the pivotal pieces showcased in the 2016 London exhibition titled “ White. It is within an on-going project by Shizico Yi, “ White”, a casting sculpture project making family and personal belongings into time capsule in transparency Epoxy. By engaging with raw materials, familial possessions, and tangible artefacts, this installation narrates the tale of a fractured memory suspended in time, expertly cast in epoxy. **Guarantee Delivery Worldwide End to End tracking (lowest shipping £18 worldwide from the UK). Free Shipping in the UK. The Time Capsule project and this sculpture works on the elements of time and space that individuals inhabit, intertwined with the landscapes of their memories. Through the installation and the sculptures and object making, Shizico brings a kaleidoscopic array of white in the exhibition space allowing two worlds meet (the memory/past and presence), offering a visual narrative that captures the essence of a shattered memory frozen in the resilient embrace of epoxy. Candy Trip - Resin Sculpture Pop Art
By Alben
Located in New York, NY
Cheeky references to pop culture and the societal context. Grounded in a postmodern vernacular, Alben’s paintings and sculptures are a pastiche of art historical moments including Pop and Classical art. Interested in street art, the self-taught artist references an array of cultural touchstones in his densely layered, often stencil-sprayed paintings; his allusions include corporate mascots, historical figures, actors, comic book characters, and artists. His sculpture similarly embraces popular culture, though it is also directly influenced by the work of the French artist Arman, who exhibited commercial objects as sculpture in the 1960s. Similarly insisting that popular culture and aesthetic production are linked, Alben inverts Arman’s structure by reimagining touchstones of art history such as the Venus de Milo as a configuration of crushed Coke cans
