About the Item
This abstract indoor sculpture was designed by W. W. Hung and made from resin.
The graceful organic white shape is designed to be reminiscent of fractal patterns found in nature. The Canadian sculptor used 3-D technology, manipulating mathematical equations on a computer to experiment with form. Hung is known for his exquisite, figurative work using classic sculpting methods that are often inspired by his love of dance. This piece sits on a black stone-like clay base. Edition 1 of 25.

Hung studied architecture at the University of Waterloo where he earned a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture in 1997. After graduation, Hung relocated to New York City and practiced architecture there and in Toronto for a number of years. In 2004, he became a member of the American Institute of Architects. He also began creating sculptural works in a unique combination of the figurative and the abstract. In 2015, Hung joined the Sculptors Society of Canada. Hung’s work is held in private collections in Canada, France, and the US.

W.W. Hung (b. Hong Kong) establishes poignant human narratives in cast bronze and resin. His dynamic figures possess powerful spatial presence despite often being intimate in scale. Hung studied architecture at the University of Waterloo, earning a Bachelor of Environmental Studies and a Bachelor of Architecture in 1997. After graduation, Hung relocated to New York City, where he worked with several leading design firms. In 2004, he became a member of the American Institute of Architects and in 2015, a Member of the Sculptors Society of Canada. Hung’s work is held in private collections in Canada, France, and the US.
