Yunior Marino
Peyote, Sculpture

2022

About the Item

Peyote, 2022 by Yunior Manino Wood and cloth Size: 62.9 H X 64.9 W x 31.4 D inches. Edition 2/3 Certificate of Authenticity _______ The sculptural work developed by Yunior Marino in recent years is very similar to the pictorial work. The altruistic and repetitive process is somewhat meditative that reminds us of how nature sculpts, slowly second by second, patiently. They are forms and ideas that cloud even more the blurred line between life and death, chaos and order, the beautiful and the horrific. "Peyote Mantra" contains those repetitive features of mantras or mandalas patiently made by hand. It projects a psychedelic image thanks to the chaotic controlled way of choosing colors that remind us of the enigmatic aura of Peyote. Yunior Marino completed his studies at the Instituto Superior de Artes de Cuba before settling in Miami. Mariño, an artist in every sense of the word, works not only as a visual artist but also as a musician and designer. He seeks by all means to investigate the universal questions of the cosmos, nature, and time. He has captivated audiences with the colorful details of his painting, the moody, ethereal melodies of his music, and the directness of his photography. He conceives the creation of his paintings as mantras, in the sense that by repeating the same action, his mind empties completely. The act of painting becomes a form of meditation. Mariño explains that the time and process of creating work are at the core of what the painting wants to mean, declaring: that is how they were made, they are what they are. Mariño frames the art of creation simply by fixing what we have once destroyed. He actively uses his past and the concept of the passage of time with universality to heal his present and future. For Yunior, the art of creating has no restrictions on the insular "being", but encompasses the larger universe, his paintings represent what "we are" and not only what we are as a race but "us" as a whole. He has worked in different countries and has exhibited extensively in Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Cuba.

"Petroleum Bubble Sunsets" Custom ALIFE sneakers, Abstract dimensional paint
By PJ Linden
Located in Philadelphia, PA
This piece titled "Petroleum Bubble Sunsets (pair)" is an original artwork by PJ Linden and is made from dimensional paint on ALIFE Leather Suede Sneakers. This piece measures 6.5"h x 8.5'w 11"d each shoe. Linden uniquely refines the use of non-traditional mediums, such as the kitschy, dimensional fabric paint, oft-referred to as puff paint, seeking to transfigure the biological into the supernatural, as filtered through the prism of a consumerist culture predicated upon the synthetic and the mass-produced. Born 1985 Bethlehem, Pennsylvania. PJ Linden is a New York City and Pennsylvania-based fine artist known for her abstract, three-dimensional work. She paints with machine-like precision, creating microscopic patterns on found objects, fashion, and technology. Linden got her start working with Patricia Field, creating custom, one-of-a-kind art and fashion under the name Wonderpuss Octopus. At Field's iconic, namesake boutique, Linden's work caught the eye of celebrity clients including Beyonce, Willow Smith, Kelly Osborne, and Solange Knowles...
