Cristian Segura works with photography, installation and video, among various medias that interact and dialogues with other disciplines. Segura took an early interest in art and began volunteering at museums, then he became a coordinator of exhibitions and at the age of 21 he became the director of the Museo Municipal de Bellas Artes de Tandil in Buenos Aires. His experience motivated him to create works with a critical and reflexive eye that speaks to the work behind the scenes in museums and cultural institutions.
Segura is one of the most complex artists of the contemporary Argentine art scene. His work has been the subject of many notable solo group shows at Museo de Arte Contemporáneo, Mar del Plata, Centro Cultural San Martín, Buenos Aires, Art Museum of the Americas, Washington DC. Segura has been featured at the 11th Havana Biennial, Cuba, the 6th Biennial of VentoSul, Brazil and the Trienal de Chile. Segura’s work can be found in the collections of various museums and private collections worldwide. He was born in Buenos Aires and currently lives and works in Tandil, Argentina.
