This stunning nickel-plated bronze beetle sculpture spins smoothly on its powder-coated steel base with a high quality ball-bearing. The insect is originally sculpted in clay, molded and then cast in wax for the lost wax bronze casting process by New York artist, Bethany Krull. The surface is finished in a rich, gorgeous Nickel-Plating. The artist is interested in the beauty and complexity of forms that manifest themselves in the natural world and uses her extensive, life-long, collection of natural objects as formal inspiration for these "specimen" sculptures.
