About the Item

"Boy with Goat" Charles Umlauf 36.5 x 15 x 5.5 inches Bronze This early bronze sculpture by Charles Umlauf depicts a young boy carrying a lamb on his shoulders, a reference to the classical theme of "The Good Shepherd." The figure is rendered with a soft, tender expression, and the childlike innocence of the boy is juxtaposed with the symbolic representation of protection and care for the lamb. The patina of the bronze gives the sculpture an aged, timeless quality, enhancing its emotional depth and classical appeal. The overall composition evokes themes of compassion and gentle strength. This piece was created in collaboration with Roman Bronze Works. The sculpture was not part of an editioned series making it the only one in existence.
