About the Item
This striking metal sculptural mask was created out of thoughts, words, and letters by Dale Dunning. The wall sculpture is cast aluminum and powder coated in a satin textured charcoal finish. The Canadian artist’s intriguing work is reminiscent of the Gothic and Classical periods of art that evoked a romantic sensibility. Dunning uses the symbol of the head as a metaphor for our collective experience.

Dunning holds a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. While earning his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Mt. Allison University, Dunning studied under Lawren P. Harris (son of Group of Seven member Lawren S. Harris) and George Tiessen. Dunning has exhibited across Canada and his work is held in private, corporate and public collections.
