Dale Dunning holds a MFA (1971) from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan. Dunning has exhibited across Canada and his work is held in a number of corporate and national collections, including the Musee des Beaux Art, Montreal, the National Library of Canada, the City of Ottawa corporate collection and the Robert McLaughlin Gallery.

His work is regularly exhibited in galleries across Canada. Over the past several years, his work has also been featured in numerous publications, including Diacritics (Johns Hopkins University),
