About the Item
Dancing Lady is an iconic form of David Hostetler's. His first Dancing Lady was carved in white oak and painted in 1979. It wasn't until the early 1990's that David revisited this form in clay to cast into a bronze. His wife Susan posed for the creation. He did the first series in polished bronze- that edition sold out. This casting is 3/24. It is back from a collector on consignment. The colors are Glasurit- a high end automotive paint that is hand sprayed and baked on by an expert. He chose the classic Rosa of the Ferrari for the dress and BMW black for the hair. The polished section is also sealed to protect from tarnishing. It is in perfect condition. This Dancer is a more dynamic form than the original. The head is thrown back and the back more arched- the gown has a dramatic sweep. Great on a table or pedestal so you can see all around it.
