Farmer Han, measures 33x11x14", limited edition of 21, signed and numbered 8, c.1986 (this is a sold out edition) The Farmer's Wife, measures 30x11x14", limited edition of 21, signed and numbered 14, c.1987 (one casting remains in the edition) A tour of duty in the Army in the Republic of Korea inspired a series of Asian-themed sculptures, including this couple of farmers checking their field. They are full of character, and have a matching patina in blacks and red/maroons with golden accents. ABOUT THE ARTIST: 'One of the most wonderful and fascinating things about sculpture is the diversity of its purposes. My own work over the years has covered many areas. Some pieces are for beauty, some tell of our heritage, some tell of my own history and some are just of interesting images.' Dee's sculpture is a product of his life experiences and interests. The memories and the imagery of the small Midwestern community where he was born and raised; its family, its sense of freedom as a youth, its sense of community, and its people have been a source of inspiration. "Effective sculpture is a craft", Clements states while discussing his approach to sculpture. "Today my passion is the study of art history, anatomy and drawing; developing the use of tools and materials; and learning the process of sculpture production which then enables me to better convey my ideas. By mastering these ever so interesting tools of the trade, one may portray the content of a person, to capture through the face and figure the spiritual essence of the individual. By knowing one's craft, a sculptor may occasionally approach art in his life and work."

"Leaf Boats" Bronze by Jane DeDecker A girl and boy release boats they've constructed from nature into the water. 39" x 30" x 30" ed/21 The Boat “I must launch out my boat. The languid hours pass by on the shore---Alas for me! The spring has done its flowering and taken leave. And now with the burden of faded futile flowers I wait and linger. The waves have become clamorous, and upon the bank in the shady lane the yellow leaves flutter and fall. What emptiness do you gaze upon! Do you not feel a thrill passing through the air with the notes of the far-away song floating from the other shore?” ---Rabindranath Tagore...

Having spent numerous years as a guide and ski instructor, Denny has learned to love the rivers and mountains of the western states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. After moving to Loveland, a hub of successful working sculptors, he wasted no time in getting monumental sculpture experience through working with renowned sculptors including Fritz White and Kent Ullberg N.A. As a member of the Potawatomi Citizen Nation, it is only natural for his artwork to follow the Native American culture. His art has not been limited to Native American and southwestern subjects, however, as he frequently explores abstract forms placing emphasis on the qualities of the metal and stone used. As a Charter member of the National Sculptors' Guild and being close to other sculptors and the Loveland area foundries has helped him to master all the foundry processes involved in producing a desirable and lasting monumental bronze sculpture. Over 50 major public placements include the Smithsonian Institution, DC.; the Gilcrease Museum, OK; Cerritos, CA; Little Rock, AR; the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Sioux collection, MN, and the Barona Band of Mission Indians...
