About the Item

Group II is a bronze sculpture by contemporary artist Delphine Brabant, dimensions are 17 × 26 × 6 cm (6.7 × 10.2 × 2.4 in). The sculpture is signed and numbered, it is part of a limited edition of 8 editions and comes with a certificate of authenticity. One is instantly reminded of human silhouettes stuck together into a small crowd by the elongated forms that are emerging from the substance. In search of verticality, the artist constructs "forests" of thin, mysterious creatures that combine and blend together. Delphine Brabant is guided by the concept of construction; she creates her sculptures in an architectural way by assembling and imbricating numerous forms with simple lines. In her abstract sculptures, Delphine Brabant, who is fascinated by the idea of construction, assembles and fits together a variety of straightforward forms like an architect. The artist finds inspiration in the verticality, horizontality, and interaction between solid and space. She favours simple geometric shapes and bases her art on the idea of balance.
