Eugène Marioton französisch, 1854 - 1933 Muscular Nude Male Bronze Eugene Marioton - Bronze Statue, um 1900 A handsome and very fit partially draped young nude male with rippling muscles is depicted in this high-quality patinated bronze from a cast by Eugene Marioton. The man is portrayed with his left arm outstretched while the other is holding a laute. On the base are construction tools. Condition is very good With an overall light/medium brown patina to surface. Bronze statue with dark patina depicting an allegory of meditation. The young man holds a lute in one hand, the other resting gently in the air. Eugène Marioton was a French sculptor, best known for his contributions to the Art Nouveau and Art Deco movements. His works often combined fluid, organic forms, with an emphasis on the human figure, which was typical of his era. Marioton was highly skilled in capturing movement and the subtleties of human expression in bronze and marble sculptures. Many of his pieces focused on themes of beauty, grace, and sensuality, with figures of dancers, athletes, and nudes often appearing in his work. Some of his notable works include *La Danse* (a graceful, dynamic bronze sculpture) and other sculptures that convey both elegance and strength. Signiert „Eug. Marioton“.
