About the Item
"Contemplation" by Frederick Hart is a figurative acrylic sculpture numbered 88/300. Hart’s emotional and intellectual response to the theme
of Creation resulted in a vision for him–to explore the possibilities of a new material, clear acrylic resin, as a vehicle for expressing his ideas; sculpting, as it were, with light. It seems as though Hart’s earlier sculptures were all in preparation for his latest work in clear acrylic. In celebrating the juxtaposition between being and non-being, one of the central themes of Creation, Hart was able with clear acrylic resin to have figures literally appear and disappear into light. The mysteries of each piece reveal themselves as you move around them.
