Gregory Orekhov
Gregory Orekhov was born in 1976 in Moscow in the family of the sculptor, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation, Academician Yury Orekhov (1927–2001). From early childhood, Orekhov learned from his father while working with him in the academic studio, which enabled him to master various sculpture techniques. His most significant works include participation in the reconstruction of the sculptural decoration of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior (1996–2001); co-author of A.S. Pushkin Monument in Minsk (2000); the bust of Leonid Kogan for the Moscow Conservatory (2014); twelve architectural steles placed at the entrance to Moscow, that became an official symbol of the Moscow region in 2015.
