About the Item
Promised Land- Bronze Sculpture with an ingenious method for inserting a miniature into the eye of a fish, evoking the Vision of a Magical Destination
Description:u2028With poetic precision, "Promised Land" by Jessica Carroll fuses the enduring materiality of bronze with the delicate expressiveness of watercolor. This striking sculpture-cast in bronze using the traditional lost wax technique-takes the form of a large, enigmatic eye. At its heart lies a hand-painted watercolour embedded within the iris like a vision or portal.
The title of the watercolor (inside the fish's eye a photo of it) "Terra Promessa" (Promised Land), evokes an imagined landscape-an inner world both intimate and universal.
Also, as a symbol of permanence and strength, it creates a compelling dialogue between the ephemeral and the eternal. The result is a singular work that speaks to longing, memory, and the hope of reaching a place where we might become, in the artist's words, "excellent visitors"-visitors who arrive with reverence and awe.
More than a sculpture, "Promised Land" functions as a symbolic threshold: an invitation to see not just with our eyes but with intention. Its quiet presence is contemplative, ideal for public and private collections that seek to bridge the organic with the visionary.

About the Artist:u2028
Jessica Carroll is known for her deeply evocative sculptures inspired by the intelligence and beauty of the natural world. Born in Italy to a family with American roots, she blends a Mediterranean sensitivity with an international vision. Her work often explores the dynamics of community and instinct found in nature-among bees, birds, or fish-and transforms them into sculptural forms that are both poetic and technically refined. In "Promised Land," she turns her gaze inward, offering a more introspective work that still carries her signature grace and reverence for form.

Grave stone naturalistic cross wrought iron outdoor sculpture, gold bee
By Ivan Zanoni

Calvary naturalistic tree.
Unique piece, not replicable. Hand-forged in wrought iron by the outstanding Italian sculptor Ivan Zanoni.
This sculpture in the form of a Cross is animated by natural elements and insects and is one of the most striking examples of the liveliness and singularity with which Ivan Zanoni knows how to forge iron and mould it according to his own sensitivity.
The Cross was the sculptural work chosen to welcome visitors to the 2024 solo exhibition that the prestigious Mart Museum in Rovereto - one of Italy's leading institutions for contemporary art - has dedicated to him.
Renowned for his wrought iron creations, Ivan Zanoni is internationally recognised as one of today's most significant iron sculptors. His mastery of the medium lends an organic vitality to the metal, particularly in his evocative depictions of plants and animals.
Born and living in Caldes (Trentino, Italy), Zanoni inherited his passion and skill from his father, Luciano Zanoni. A revered craftsman, Zanoni created a four-metre monumental olive tree sculpture...
