About the Item
Johannes Nielsen (b.1979) was born in Falkenberg, Sweden. He is an artist who uses bronze sculpture to celebrate life and its beauty. He believes that sculptures of the human body can “reveal the inner spirit and emotions as well as its external physical appearance.” He uses the idea of the material and immaterial of human existence and portrays them in his works through a lively play with positive and negative space. The figures in his sculptures lack facial expression. However, the viewers are clearly able to feel the emotions that the artist is trying to convey. Something about the lack of material and expression allows the works to linger in people’s minds. Nielsen states that his sculptures are “a combination of traditional and contemporary esthetics and methods that express” his personal vision of reality.
The artist uses his own body to 3D scan, which will be used as a base to sculpt a virtual model. The bronze and metal that he uses is casted once he has the mould. Working with metal requires a lot of attention as well as technical and mechanical troubleshooting. However it is also one of the few materials that can give the sense of organic quality, while being industrial and sturdy.
Johannes Nielsen, in 2001 enrolled in the Lund’s Art School, and moved to Dublin in 2003 to become the assistant to sculptor Patrick O’Reilly, where he honed his sculptural practice. He has participated and showcased his works in several art fairs and exhibitions in Europe, US, and Asia. His works are now a part of public and private collections all over the globe. He is based in and continues his artistic practice with his wife, daughter, and son in Beijing, China.

- Diver UP! 24 Karat GoldLocated in New York, NYVictor Spinelli was born in New York from and Italian family. Established in Ibiza, he attributes his origins in art to piloting a Hot Air balloon and travelling the world as a photographer. His works range from painting to sculpture and of course, photography. In 2019 he orchestrated the construction of an 8-foot wooden sculpture of my popular photograph “Diver UP” for Burning Man. The sculpture was torched on “The Mans” ashes after he burned to the ground and this symbolized metamorphoses of not only the evolution of Diver UP, but also a demarcation point in his career, thus beginning a new chapter within it. In 2020 he organizes the first edition of the Spin Art...Category

"ENTER HERE, YOU ARE GOLDEN. IT IS NOT THE ROOM NOR THE LIGHTING. THE MALE THAT LIVES, IS YOU. THE FEMALE THAT LIVES, IS YOU. HOLDING, TWISTING WITH THE TORCH OF LIFE. AT TIMES TURNING YOUR BACK ON WHAT LIFE IS. ENTER HERE YOU ARE GOLDEN." -DH ABOUT THE ARTIST: Denny Haskew currently resides in Loveland, Colorado where he is actively engaged in the art industry as a sculptor. He received his degree from the University of Utah, then served two years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Having spent numerous years as a guide and ski instructor, Denny has learned to love the rivers and mountains of the western states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. After moving to Loveland, a hub of successful working sculptors, he wasted no time in getting monumental sculpture experience through working with renowned sculptors including Fritz White and Kent Ullberg N.A. Since 1987, Denny has created and placed dozens of monumental compositions; spanning the full spectrum of the figurative genre. As a member of the Potawatomi Citizen Nation, it is only natural for his artwork to follow the Native American culture. His art has not been limited to Native American and southwestern subjects, however, as he frequently explores abstract forms placing emphasis on the qualities of the metal and stone used. As a Charter member of the National Sculptors' Guild and being close to other sculptors and the Loveland area foundries has helped him to master all the foundry processes involved in producing a desirable and lasting monumental bronze sculpture. Over 50 major public placements include the Smithsonian Institution, DC.; the Gilcrease Museum, OK; Cerritos, CA; Little Rock, AR; the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Sioux collection, MN, and the Barona Band of Mission Indians...Category
