About the Item

This architectural layered cement head sculpture examines the body as a durable dwelling, constructed through stacked volumes and structural fragments. Part of José Perozo’s Proyectos subseries within the broader framework of anthropotecture, Project VIII reflects on the idea of the human head as an architectural container—an interior space shaped, reinforced and inhabited over time. Its compact dimensions place it among collectible small sculptures that merge figuration with architectural thinking. Cast in high-hardness cement using a silicone mold, the sculpture retains material characteristics associated with construction: pores, minor tonal shifts, structural seams, small chips and variations in surface density. Each layer is individually tinted with water-based pigments and sealed with a semi-matte varnish, accentuating the contrasts between volumes. A band of chestnut wood, treated with lasur for protection, occupies one of the upper architectural levels, introducing a warm natural counterpoint within the piece’s otherwise mineral materiality. Fine aggregates enhance the precision of the original modeling, while acrylic fibers and a water-reducing agent ensure structural integrity and prevent shrinkage cracking. With its hybrid presence—both figurative and architectonic—this cement sculpture aligns strongly with the Holiday Gift Guide, Small Sculptures and Figural Works categories on 1stDibs. Keywords such as architectural sculpture, cement sculpture and collectible head sculpture reinforce its visibility for collectors seeking unique, concept-driven works grounded in material experimentation and contemporary design sensibilities.
