Karapet (Garo) Balakeseryan was born in Yerevan, Armenia.
Mr. Balakeseryan’s eminent blacksmith family had its influence on his further choice of becoming a sculptor. It has become the center of gravity for growing Garo.
Sculpting allowed Garo to express his feelings and share his thoughts through his creations. His passion and love for sculptures has always been the moving power and inspiration to learn and grow as a professional.
Being a self-taught artist has never stopped Mr. Balakeseryan from overcoming obstacles and pursuing excellence in sculpting.
The professional support and inspiration from Karen Cope added more confidence into his works and vision for the future. With Ms. Cope support Garo was introduced to California Sculptors Symposium of Cambria and had an opportunity to work with world known and highly acclaimed sculptures.
Mr. Garo has been participating in many local and state art fairs and won several juried places during his career. His sculptures could be found in many private collections.
Currently Mr. Garo is working on a new series of sculptures that are planned to be introduced to his collectors and art society by the end of the year.
All works are copyrighted, and all rights are reserved by the artist.
